There is a consistent disconnect between the Police and the Black community and an overall lack of diversity represented in entertainment surrounding People of Color in active duty or service.
How might we bridge the gap between the black community and police law enforcement through diversity and representation in entertainment and the media.
Growing up I've always wanted to understand why some people are taught that the Police are your enemy. Truth is there should be no disconnect, no distrust and absolutely no discrimination between the two communities but, unfortunately there is. I want to bridge the gap between these two communities by creating examples I wish to see in the world.
The Story bridges the gap between the historical disconnect of the black community and the police force by creating a positive narrative surrounding police within the black community. This story takes place in a not so distant future featuring themes of African Diaspora specifically Afro-futurism.
The Premise:
200 years into the future, the uncontrollable evolution of science and technology has caused crime rates to rise an astounding 300%. To combat this, the overwhelmed police force has implemented a new policy: every human police officer is paired with a lifelike combat-model android.
