How to Present Your Ideas

Updated: Jan 26, 2018

The last chapter was pretty straight forward, this chapter was on Preparing for a presentation.

Of course it may seem easy and blunt on what to focus on when preparing for the a presentation but as the chapter clearly demonstrates, there are certain distinct concepts that one must page attention too when going through this process. The purpose of any presentation is to clearly demonstrate what you have learned or a conclusion you have recently come to, When creating a Presentation you must have a goal of how the information needs to be shared. The book points out the importance of creative briefs, this basically means 'the content of your presentation should solely focus on addressing the presentations goals.

“ There are good leaders who actively guide and bad leaders who actively misguide. Hence, leadership is about persuasion, presentation and people skills .” - Shiv Khera

You want your presentation to look clean and concise and not careless or overconfident. The book reminds the presenter to be confident and to draw confidence from their work. You must make sure as the presenter you know what you are talking an-bout and it is clear. Expect to receive a lot of questions from your clients or whomever you are presenting to.

Remember to prepare for any thing that comes your way. Make sure to be physical with your presentations. People are physical creatures and much of our communication is through actions and facial expressions so stay involved with your clients, keep eye contact and look throughout the room.
